Quality Assurance

At KPA Electrical Ltd we guarantee quality in every phase of our work from stepping on site through to final project handover.

Our commitment means you receive installations that are safe, compliant, and built to last.

1. Quality Assurance Framework

We’ve developed a streamlined, fail safe QA process that runs on both our cloud folder system and mobile application. This digital approach ensures real time visibility, traceability, and accountability at each project milestone.

1.1 QA Folder & Mobile App Setup

At project kick off we create a dedicated QA folder in the cloud and link it to our mobile QA app.
All team members and management gain role based access for updates, photos, snagging reports, and sign-offs.

1.2 Defined QA Stages

We enforce four core QA stages mandatory, each with clear entry and exit criteria. we generate a QA pack for each drawing for these stages. sometime we have to adapt to project needs as all projects are not the same however our mandatory stages are:

  • Containment
  • First Fix
  • Second Fix
  • Compliance & Testing

2. Stage by Stage Procedure

2.1 Containment

Onsite lead on this project (33 Wigmore Street, London) Alfie Morrison generates a snag report in the app his checks will include appropriate containment support, all containment and bracketry is fixed securely, brackets/containment is aligned, all containment is level and installed to drawings.

If we find any deviations from perfect we will take photos, add a description of what’s required and mark locations on drawings for clarity.

Installation team addresses each snag, ticks off resolved items in the app.

The onsite lead or manager reviews corrections, takes post fix photos, and marks items complete.

We issue a quality assurance report along with a certificate which is to be witnessed by the client.

2.2 First Fix

Onsite lead generates a snag report in the app, carrying check to ensure compliance with BS7671. some check to be carried out, sufficient cable clips at correct intervals, fire protection fixings where required plus at regular intervals, cables are installed in a neat manner with no twist or overlapping, the correct cables have been installed, all is installed as per drawings, fixings are secure and aligned. any deviations will be captured attaching photos and marking issue locations on drawings.

2.3 Second Fix

Our compliance engineer James Mussett, undertakes a rigorous check on every electrical accessory:

Open ALL accessories and inspect terminations
Photograph connections, re-assemble, and label
Perform tests: insulation resistance, continuity, RCD operation.
Verify cable sizing is correctly selected for the allocated protective device.
Check Zs readings against BS7671 maximum permitted impedances.
Conduct functional tests for all controls and outlets.
Capture as tested photos and log results.

Ownership and remediation deadlines are set.
Once resolved, management verifies completion and updates the QA record.

4. Client Handover

We compile all informations collected.
We deliver these digitally via the QA folder alongside our Quality Assurance Handover Sheet, which includes quality assurance certificate, applications report and NICEIC relevant test certificates.

5. Continuous Improvement

After handover, we hold a project retrospective to:

Review QA metrics (snag counts, turnaround times, test pass rates).
Update our checklists, drawings, and training materials.
Close feedback loops so future installs are even more robust.
